The World Poker Tour has added two new Asian stops for the WPT National Events tour.
There will be two new events hosted in Asia in partnership with An Educational Investment LTD and they will be held in Cambodia.
The current season it will see the introduction of these two stops. The first event in Cambodia will be taking place on December 22 at the Holiday Palace Casino & Resort located in Poipet in Cambodia. It will be played till the 29th December and the event will be called as the WPT National Thailand. This event will be broken into two with first two starting flights between December 22 and 23 and the last flight on December 26th. There will be a break in between the tournament for Christmas on 24 and 25th December. The WPT National Thailand main event is in THB 37,400 ($1,100).
The 2nd event in Cambodia in Thailand will be named the WPT National Cambodia and it will be taking place at the Queenco Hotel & Casino in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. This event will run from 2nd to 13th January 2017 and the main event is for $1,485. This tour event will also feature three starting flights on 3rd, 4th and 6th of January.
Poipet is a growing center for gambling and is located on the border of Cambodia and Thailand. As gambling is illegal in Thailand, the Thais will have to cross the border to gamble. As the Holiday Palace Casino & resort is located in between the immigration checkpoints, people from Thailand can get to the place without needing to go through the immigration process in Cambodia.
The hosting of two WPT National events in Cambodia will give the World Poker Tour to carry on with its global expansion and show to the world the demand for poker events in the Asian regions.
